News Dr. Muindi Representing LIA at ICMDA 2010 World Congress
Life in Abundance International (LIA) is honored to participate in the 2010 World Congress of International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA). This International Congress is held every four years. The 2010 gathering will be held in Uruguay, South America from July 1 through the 8. The congress will bring together Christian medical professionals from all over the world presenting a great opportunity to impact the nations through a time of presentations, workshops, and discussions.
The theme of ICMDA 2010 World Congress is ‘Priorities in Professional Practice: For Whom Are You Working?’ LIA president, Dr. Florence Muindi, has been invited to speak in two seminars, both focusing on the broad framework of serving to empower poor communities, as an improvement to simply providing a service delivery to the world’s poorest communities.
Dr. Muindi‘s first seminar will target medical students. It is during this time that she will share on the call to medical missions, including elements of her personal journey in this regard. Her second seminar will be to medical practitioners. Here she will speak on serving the world’s poor today, as Christ would, within the empowerment paradigm.

### Life in Abundance International is serving Africa's poorest communities in a new way. Our approach is wholistic, participatory and works to identify assets already in the community, rather than relying on assets from the outside in perpetuity. LIA staff provide focused wholistic development training, program management, and technical support to transform these communities through the local churches. We equip the local churches to go beyond traditional teaching and preaching ministries in an effort to meet the practical needs of their neighbors, effectively, for long term sustainable community transformation.
